Let us get right to the point. You want to jump out of a plane and you
want to find out how. Well, you have come to the right place!
Yes.
To ensure your safety while making your first skydive, we will require that you are
medically fit. This means that you should not have any illness or ailment that could prevent you
from doing a first skydive. If you have any doubts or reservations, please consult your physician.
Also, we will only permit you to do a first skydive if you weigh less than 100Kg.
There are many reasons for this but the most important of them is that the equipment that we use for
student training is only rated to carry a student who weighs less than 100Kg.
That rule will NOT be bent or broken for any reason.
When the parachute opens, your body will be exposed to a certain amount of strain
(called opening-shock). If you have a pre-existing spinal chord injury or have any back problems of
any description (including persistent back-pain) it is highly recommended that you consult your
physician before attempting a first skydive.
The Static line course costs R 950.00.
The cost includes full ground training (including aircraft
and exit procedures, landings, emergencies, and much much more), your first jump, a full year's membership to
PASA (the Parachute Association of South Africa) for a year (OR until you obtain your A-Licence) and a student log-card.
The longest established option for a first skydive is the Static Line Course.
For more information on the static line course, take a look at our
skydive info page.
If you have a large group (more than 10 people) wanting to do the first jump
course, you can contact the club to arrange training
during the week. If you do your first jump course during the week you will
still need to come out to WSC on the weekend to do the first jump.
